James’ father was the first Delaware resident to volunteer for military service after Pearl Harbor. Most of his time in military aircraft was spent piloting B-24s in the South Pacific until VJ Day. He flew for the commercial airlines following his 20-year naval aviation career.

Flying airplanes was the part James knew best of his father’s life. When his father was not in a plane for commercial airlines, he was teaching his sons to fly, demonstrating some suspenseful aerobatics when least expected. He had them performing their own take offs and landings by the time they were 12 and 13. Commercial airline professionals were often around James’ family when he was growing up, so he became very comfortable around pilots and their families. James likes airline people, and he is always more than willing to represent them. Over the years, James has helped many airline pilots and employees with their divorces.
